Senate Local Legislation Hearing
No Meeting at 10:17:00

The bill lets the Butler County sheriff sell surplus department property and put the proceeds into a dedicated fund to buy vehicles and related equipment.
If passed, the sheriff can sell surplus property (including vehicles) in a way that aims to maximize the return. It creates the Sheriff’s Vehicle Fund in a Butler County bank to pay for purchases of vehicles or related equipment for the sheriff’s office. All money from sales goes into that fund and is audited by the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts. The act takes effect June 1, 2025.
