- Alabama Local Government Training Institutue, renamed Buddy Sharpless Education Institute
- Description
Under existing law, the Alabama Local Government Training Institute provides training and education to newly elected county commissioners on matters pertaining to the administration and operation of county government. The institute was established in 1994 under the leadership of O.H. "Buddy" Sharpless, who was the Executive Director of the Association of County Commissions of Alabama at that time.
This bill would change the name of the Alabama Local Government Training Institute to the Buddy Sharpless Education Institute, in memory of O.H.
"Buddy" Sharpless, who passed away on May 8, 2024.
