HB75 would require Alabama public high schools to excuse students from class for National Signing Day activities related to athletic scholarships, postsecondary commitments, apprenticeships, and military enlistments, and to provide reasonable accommodations, effective October 1, 2026.
If passed, high schools must excuse students from instructional time when they participate in organized National Signing Day activities related to those commitments. The schools must provide reasonable accommodations for these activities, such as meeting space with connectivity and seating. The measure applies to athletic scholarships, postsecondary commitments, apprenticeship programs, and military enlistments, and it becomes effective October 1, 2026.
