HB367 creates a $30 booking fee in Randolph County charged to defendants who are incarcerated or booked and later convicted or plead guilty in county circuit or district court cases, with the money going to the county's Law Enforcement Fund.
Imposes a $30 booking fee on each defendant incarcerated or booked in the Randolph County Jail who is convicted of or pleads guilty in cases prosecuted in the county's circuit or district court. The clerk of court adds the fee to the docket, collects it like other court costs, and the fee is in addition to all other fines and costs. Fees collected are remitted monthly to the Sheriff to be deposited into the Law Enforcement Fund for county law enforcement purposes. The act becomes effective on October 1, 2026.
