HB413 would provide longevity pay to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff, Tax Assessor, and Tax Collector, on the same basis as other county employees, starting June 1, 2026.
Starting June 1, 2026, the Sheriff, along with the Tax Assessor and Tax Collector, will receive longevity pay equal to what other active full-time regular employees in Tuscaloosa County receive. Payments will come from the county general fund and be made in the same manner as other employees. The Tuscaloosa County Commission must set the exact amount of longevity pay and the payment dates for each official.
