SB190 would exempt Precision Ocular from Alabama state sales and use taxes for a defined period and allow local governments to grant exemptions as well.
If enacted, the bill would exempt Precision Ocular from state sales and use taxes from October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2031, unless the Legislature extends the period. Local governments could also exempt Precision Ocular from local sales and use taxes, but only with approval from the county or municipality under Section 40-23-4.01. The act would take effect on September 1, 2026.
