James Lucas

James Lucas previously served on the Athens City Board of Education and was the longest-standing board member in the State of Alabama when he resigned in 2022. He began serving in 1995.

Mr. Lucas is a graduate of Trinity High School in Athens and served in the U.S. Army. He has an associate’s degree in business administration and is a former employee at Radio Corporation of America on Redstone Arsenal and Amoco Chemical.

He is married to Carolyn McWilliams Lucas, and they have three children.
