About

Mark R. Eady is the Colbert County Circuit Clerk, elected in 2018 and taking office on January 15, 2019.
Mark is a Shoals Native. He graduated from Muscle Shoals High School before earning a B.A. degree in Political Science from Auburn University and a B.S. degree in Social Science from Athens State University.

Under Mark's leadership, the clerk's office created this website, brought back passport service, stream-lined civil payments, began taking credit card transactions for traffic citations, and started utilizing the OTR (Online Traffic Resolution) program to provide more options for resolving traffic citations without appearing in court, enhanced communication with the Sheriff’s Office to save resources, lowered copying fees by over 70% to alleviate this burden on the general public, and heightened safety for all by having plexiglass barriers installed. Mark also created practices and procedures for successfully maneuvering through the unprecedented obstacles presented by COVID-19 and led his office in administering absentee ballots for the 2020 election. Colbert County was also one of the pilot counties for the OTR (Online Traffic Resolution System). He was honored to also serve as THE pilot county for E-Swear, offering two programs that help save time and resources and further offer support to our brave men and women in Blue.

From the reallocation of records to better providing more resources to court specialists, Mark has created blueprints for solving problems statewide.

Mark is honored to serve and will always look for new methods to better fulfill his duties & responsibilities. He is blessed with an excellent staff.
