Sherry Armstrong

Sherry Pickard Armstrong is a municipal official in Hamilton, Alabama, who has served on the Hamilton City Council (Council Place 3). She ran for election to the seat in the August 26, 2025 municipal election and has also served as mayor pro tem. In a candidate profile published during the 2025 campaign, Armstrong stated that she and her family reside in Hamilton.

Armstrong’s professional background is in education. In her 2025 candidate profile, she wrote that she is a graduate of Hamilton High School and Northwest Technical College (now Bevill State Community College–Hamilton), and that she earned an education specialist degree in supervision and a doctorate in leadership from the University of Alabama. She described herself as a former educator of 30 years, including 21 years as principal of Hamilton Elementary School, and said she had served on the Hamilton City Council for two years at the time of the profile. In that same profile, she highlighted priorities including business and industry recruitment, infrastructure improvements, ambulance service, hospital services, continued support for medical helicopter service, support for schools, and public safety resourcing.
