Tommie Conaway

Tommie Conaway represents District 1 and has been a resident of Daphne since 1975. She received a BS and M. Ed in Elementary Education from Alabama State University in Montgomery. Administrative Certification (N-12) was obtained from the University of Mobile. Councilwoman Conaway has served Baldwin County as an educator for 34 years. She taught for 13 years in the classroom and 21 years as principal at Foley Middle, Daphne Intermediate and Daphne East. Councilwoman Conaway retired in 2009. She serves on various boards and committees in the community.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, playing tennis, shopping and spending time with her grandsons. She is married to Francis B. Conaway. They have two daughters, Tiffany N. Conaway (deceased) and Leah Conaway (Dominic) Washington. She is the grandmother of Brock and Beau Washington. Councilwoman Conaway is committed to serving the people in Daphne, especially District 1.
