Senate Veterans, Military Affairs and Public Safety Hearing
Finance and Taxation at 12:00:00

Under existing law, the spouses of certain military veterans are provided additional points on open competitive employment tests for positions in the classified state service.
This bill would require the spouses of active duty service members to have additional points added to their ratings for these positions.
This bill would authorize political subdivisions of the state and private employers to grant veterans and their spouses and spouses of active duty service members preference in hiring and promotion.
This bill would also make nonsubstantive, technical revisions to update the existing code language to current style.
