Jeremy Devito to Attend April 18 Indivisible Event in Huntsville
Jeremy Devito, a Democratic candidate for Alabama’s 5th Congressional District, is scheduled to appear at the Indivisible Spring Fling on April 18 at Butler Green Park in Huntsville.
The event is set for 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and is open to the public. Organizers say it will include games, a vendor market, voter registration, a food and diaper drive, and opportunities for attendees to meet candidates. Game ticket sales are expected to benefit Love Huntsville, and food drive donations will go to a local food bank.
Devito, of Athens, is a U.S. Army veteran and procurement professional. His campaign said he will be available for interviews before and after the event and by appointment during the week leading up to it.
The appearance comes as Democrats in the district move toward the May 19 primary. Devito is running in the 2026 Alabama U.S. House District 5 Election, where Democrats Jeremy Devito, Andrew Sneed and Candice Duvieilh are seeking their party’s nomination. Republican incumbent Dale Strong is also on the ballot for the Nov. 3 general election.
Campaign events like the one in Huntsville give candidates a chance to meet voters outside formal debates and paid advertising. In a district that stretches across north Alabama, those gatherings can also help campaigns connect with local groups already involved in voter outreach and community service projects.
Indivisible 5th District North Alabama is organizing the event. The group describes itself as a local civic engagement organization, and the program reflects that focus by combining campaign appearances with voter registration and donation drives.
Devito’s campaign said more than 175 people had engaged with the event’s Facebook page ahead of the gathering. Attendance figures for the event itself were not available as of Wednesday.
For candidates in a contested primary, April campaign stops can help shape the final weeks before voting begins in earnest. Alabama’s primary election is May 19, and the winner of the Democratic contest will advance to the November ballot in the state’s northern congressional district.
