Elections, Internet voter registration authorized, Secretary of State to maintain website
Description
<p class="bill_description"> Under existing law, there is no procedure
for a person to register to vote via the Internet</p><p class="bill_description">
This bill would provide that a person may
register to vote through a secure Internet site
implemented and maintained by the Secretary of
State</p><p class="bill_description">
This bill would authorize the Secretary of
State to use federal Help America Vote Act funds to
implement and maintain secure Internet voting
registration to the extent that such use is
authorized under federal laws, rules, regulations,
and guidelines</p><p class="bill_entitled_an_act"> To provide that a person may register to vote
through a secure Internet site implemented and maintained by
the Secretary of State; and to authorize the Secretary of
State to use federal Help America Vote Act funds to implement
and maintain secure Internet voting registration to the extent
that such use is authorized under federal laws, rules,
regulations, and guidelines.
