SB292 changes Lee County coroner pay by creating a county-determined annual vehicle allowance and requiring the county to provide office space and equipment.
If enacted, the Lee County Coroner would receive an annual vehicle allowance set by the Lee County Commission. The allowance would be paid in equal monthly installments from the county’s general fund and would replace any other expense allowance, but the coroner would still receive salary provided by law. The Lee County Commission would also provide adequate office space, furniture, computers, books, stationery, postage, and other supplies and services needed for the coroner’s duties. The act takes effect immediately after the Governor signs it into law or it otherwise becomes law.
