This law adds a $25 fee to each marriage license and adoption petition filed in Cleburne County Probate Court, with the money split so $5 stays with the probate office and the rest goes to fund the Calhoun/Cleburne Children's Center.
It creates an additional $25 fee for marriage licenses and adoption petitions in the Cleburne County Probate Court. After deducting a $5 administrative fee for the judge of probate, the remaining funds are sent to the Cleburne County Commission. Those funds are earmarked to support the Calhoun/Cleburne Children's Center, which provides programs and services to qualifying children and families in Calhoun and Cleburne Counties; the Center must report expenditures and propose a budget each year. The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month after it is signed into law.
