Title: Alabama Construction Recruitment Institute, subject to Alabama Sunset Law, construction craft industry fees, continued collection of provided, Sec. 7 of Act 2009-561, 2009 Reg. Sess., amended to delete expiration; Sec. 7 of Act 2010-220, 2010 Reg. Sess., repealed
Description: Under existing law, the Alabama Construction Recruitment Institute provides for the recruitment of, and training programs and opportunities for, new construction craft trade workers in the state.
Also under existing law, construction craft industry fees, which are levied and imposed on wages paid by employers on employees engaged in skilled labor in the performance of a construction contract or job in the state, and remitted to the Department of Revenue for the purpose of funding a program providing for the recruitment of, and training opportunities for, new construction craft trade labor in the state, are scheduled to expire on May 18, 2013.
This bill would subject the Alabama Construction Recruitment Institute, as an enumerated agency, to the Alabama Sunset Law.
This bill would also provide for the continued collection of construction craft industry fees.
