Description

Under existing law, the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors is responsible for licensing and governing the practice of engineers and land surveyors in the state

This bill would require that certain applicants for licensure pass a board approved examination in lieu of an eight-hour written examination

This bill would authorize the board to contract with an independent testing agency for administering and grading examinations

This bill would also provide that a simple majority of the board members constitutes a quorum

To amend Sections 34-11-1, 34-11-4, 34-11-6, and 34-11-34, Code of Alabama 1975, relating to the practice of engineering and land surveying; to require that certain applicants for licensure pass a board approved examination in lieu of an eight-hour written examination; to authorize the board to contract with an independent testing agency; and to provide that a simple majority of board members is a quorum.
