HB325 would provide the Tallapoosa County sheriff with a $1,000 monthly expense allowance and raise the sheriff's annual salary by $12,000 after the current term ends, with the monthly allowance ending when the salary increase begins.
It creates an additional $1,000 per month expense allowance for the Tallapoosa County Sheriff, to be paid from the county's general fund, starting the first day of the month after the act becomes law. It also increases the sheriff's annual salary by $12,000 per year, beginning when the incumbent sheriff's term ends, with payments made in equal monthly installments from the general fund. When the salary increase takes effect, the monthly expense allowance created in Section 1 becomes void. The act becomes effective immediately upon passage and governor approval, except as otherwise provided.
