HB623 allows the sale of draft and keg beer in Dallas County’s unincorporated areas and lets municipalities opt in to permit such sales within their borders.
The bill lets retail licensees of the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board sell draft beer and keg beer for on-premises or off-premises consumption in the unincorporated areas of Dallas County. Each municipality in Dallas County may, by ordinance, authorize the sale of draft and keg beer by ABC Board licensees within that municipality for on- or off-premises consumption. If a municipality authorizes it, licensed businesses must sell or dispense draft and keg beer in accordance with their license and applicable ABC Board laws and regulations. The act takes effect immediately after the Governor signs it into law.
