SB339 abolishes the EMS Advisory Board, adds eight voting members to the State Emergency Medical Control Committee (SEMCC), and gives all SEMCC members voting rights.
It repeals the EMS Advisory Board. It adds eight new members to the SEMCC: one physician appointed by the Alabama Hospital Association and seven licensed paramedics appointed by various EMS groups. It specifies that every SEMCC member would have voting privileges. It also makes changes to how EMS rules and policies are developed under SEMCC and allows SEMCC to organize subcommittees as needed; the act becomes effective immediately after governor approval.
