COMMENDING SENATOR WILLIAM L. HOLTZCLAW FOR
DISTINGUISHED LEGISLATIVE SERVICE.
WHEREAS, we note with utmost admiration and
appreciation the distinguished service of our friend and
colleague, Senator William L. Holtzclaw, to the citizens of
Senate District 2, in Limestone and Madison Counties, since
being elected in 2010; and
WHEREAS, Senator Holtzclaw has been actively
involved in the legislative process through his important
leadership and committee assignments including: Banking and
Insurance, County and Municipal Government, Finance and
Taxation General Fund, Local Legislation Madison County,
Transportation and Energy, and Veterans and Military Affairs;
and
WHEREAS, a resident of Madison, Senator Holtzclaw
holds a degree from Athens State University; he is retired
from the United States Marine Corps; he served in Operation
Desert Storm in Iraq and Operation Restore Hope in Mogadishu,
Somalia; and

WHEREAS, Senator Holtzclaw and his wife, Pam, have
two children and the family worships at Asbury United
Methodist Church; and
WHEREAS, Senator Holtzclaw has worked tirelessly on
behalf of the citizens of Alabama while serving in the Alabama
Senate and all who have served with him will always remember
his dedication and inspiring service; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That we heartily commend Senator
William Holtzclaw for his outstanding service to the people of
Senate District 2 and the State of Alabama and for his
invaluable contributions to this body for the past eight
years.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this
resolution will be presented to Senator William Holtzclaw with
our highest esteem and appreciation, as well as sincere best
wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
