COMMENDING SENATOR BILL HIGHTOWER FOR DISTINGUISHED
LEGISLATIVE SERVICE.
WHEREAS, we note with utmost admiration and
appreciation the distinguished service of our friend and
colleague, Senator Bill Hightower, to the citizens of Senate
District 35, in Mobile County, since being elected in 2013;
and
WHEREAS, Senator Hightower has been actively
involved in the legislative process through his important
leadership and committee assignments including: Finance and
Taxation General Fund, Constitution Ethics and Elections,
Fiscal Responsibility and Economic Development, Rules, Local
Legislation Mobile County, Banking and Insurance, and County
and Municipal Government; and
WHEREAS, a resident of Mobile, Senator Hightower
holds degrees from the University of South Alabama and
Vanderbilt University; he is owner of a private practice
focusing on corporate strategic consulting; he has been active
as a board member of Bethany Christian Adoption Services,
Toastmasters International President, and United Way Corporate

Chair; he is an Advisory Board Member to Outback America, and
a Board Member to N.E.S.T.; and
WHEREAS, Senator Hightower and his wife, Susan, have
three children; and
WHEREAS, Senator Hightower has worked tirelessly on
behalf of the citizens of Alabama while serving in the Alabama
Senate and all who have served with him will always remember
his dedication and inspiring service; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That we heartily commend Senator
Hightower for his outstanding service to the people of Senate
District 35 and the State of Alabama and for his invaluable
contributions to this body for the past five years.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this
resolution will be presented to Senator Hightower with our
highest esteem and appreciation, as well as sincere best
wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
