Title
Retirement, benefits for local employers participating in ERS, retirement benefits given to Tier I plan members authorized for Tier II plan members, Sec. 36-27-6.5 added
Description
Under existing law, a local governing body or local public organization can elect to have its officers and employees participate in the Employees' Retirement System
This bill would provide that a local employer participating in the Employees' Retirement System could elect to provide the same retirement benefits given to Tier I plan members to its Tier II plan members
To add Section 36-27-6.5 to the Code of Alabama 1975, relating to retirement for members of the Employees' Retirement System; to provide that a local employer participating in the ERS could elect to provide the same retirement benefits given to Tier I plan members to its Tier II plan members.
