Title
Legislature, members of, providing consulting services, persons compensating members to notify Ethics Commission of certain arrangements, Sec. 36-25-7.1 added
Description

Under existing law, a member of the Legislature may enter into a consulting arrangement outside his or her regular scope of work while serving in office.

This bill would require a person who enters into a consulting arrangement with a member of the Legislature that is outside the member's scope of work to notify the State Ethics Commission before compensating the member.

This bill would provide that the records generated by this notification are public records.

This bill would also authorize the commission to adopt rules.
