Title

Description
<p class="bill_description"> Under existing law, a member of the
Legislature may enter into a consulting arrangement
outside his or her regular scope of work while
serving in office</p><p class="bill_description">
This bill would require a person who enters
into a consulting arrangement with a member of the
Legislature that is outside the member's scope of
work to notify the State Ethics Commission before
compensating the member</p><p class="bill_description">
This bill would provide that the records
generated by this notification are public records</p><p class="bill_description">
This bill would also authorize the
commission to adopt rules</p><p class="bill_entitled_an_act"> Relating to members of the Legislature; to add
Section 36-25-7.1 to the Code of Alabama 1975, to require a
person who enters into a consulting arrangement with a member
of the Legislature that is outside the member's scope of work
to notify the State Ethics Commission before compensating the
member; to provide that the records generated by this
notification are public records; and to authorize the
commission to adopt rules.
