Relating to Lamar County to provide for the salary of the judge of probate effective the next term of office; and to repeal Section 45-38-81 of the Code of Alabama 1975, providing for the salary of the judge of probate.

Section 1

(a) Effective beginning with the next term of office after the effective date of this act, the Judge of Probate of Lamar County shall receive as his or her compensation an amount equal to seventy thousand dollars ($70,000) per year, plus five thousand seven hundred dollars ($5,700) per year for service as chair of the county commission. The compensation shall be paid out of the General Fund of Lamar County. (b) All fees and monies received by the judge of probate or his or her office shall be deposited into the county general fund.

Section 2

Effective beginning the next term of office of the Judge of Probate of Lamar County, Section 45-38-81 of the Code of Alabama 1975, is repealed.

Section 3

This act shall become effective immediately following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
