MOURNING THE DEATH OF MRS. MARY FRANCES ROBERSON.
WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow that we note the
death on January 26, 2018, of Mrs. Mary Frances Roberson of
Gadsden, Alabama, at the age of 82 years; and
WHEREAS, her passing leaves a void in the lives of
her loving family, many friends, and the entire community,
where she was highly regarded; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Roberson accepted Christ as her Savior
at an early age and was a member of Twelfth Street Baptist
Church serving at Hopkins Chapel, where she taught children's
Sunday School and worked in the day care; and
WHEREAS, she will be remembered for her signature
gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and
joking around; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Roberson's grandchildren were her
heart and joy; she had the wonderful opportunity to help
nurture them and to teach them about Jesus; and
WHEREAS, she was preceded in death by her parents,
Hobart Lee Henderson and Betty Barksdale; husband, George
Roberson; brother, Hoyt Henderson; and sister, Doris
McBurnett; and
WHEREAS, survivors include her sons, Ron Dickson and
Tommy Dickson; daughters, Cherie Metz (Joe) and Renee Kemp
(Rick); grandchildren, Misty Kemp Parker (Jason), Tiki Kemp,
Brandi Edwards (Ezra), Lauren Dickson, Will Dickson, DJ Metz,
and Gabrielle Metz; eight great-grandchildren, Luke Parker, Bo
Parker, Riley Parker, Maegan Dorsett, Bella Shrader, Charlee
Kate Shrader, Isla Edwards, and Adeline Edwards; brother,
Walter Lee Henderson (Martha); sisters, Toni Burger (Dewey)
and Phyllis Moore; and a host of nieces and nephews; and
WHEREAS, although her presence will be greatly
missed, the memory of Mrs. Roberson will be cherished by all
who knew and loved her; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the death of Mrs. Mary
Frances Roberson is recorded with deep sadness, and this
resolution is offered in tribute to her life and with
heartfelt sympathy to her family, whose grief is shared by
many.
