WHEREAS, highest commendations are herein proudly presented to Peter F. Alba School in Bayou La Batre, Alabama, on the occasion of its 100th Anniversary Celebration; and WHEREAS, Peter F. Alba School was named after Captain Peter F. Alba of Coden, Alabama, who donated five acres for its site; the school was the first consolidated school in the Mobile School System in 1918; and WHEREAS, Peter F. Alba School fosters love, faith, dedication, and sacrifice for the well-being of students, parents, and the community and has served thousands of students from Mobile County; and WHEREAS, with an unwavering commitment to excellence, Peter F. Alba School has equipped countless students with the necessary tools to succeed in the academic arena, the workforce, and life; and WHEREAS, a special parade is being held on February 24, 2018, in Bayou La Batre to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Peter F. Alba School; and WHEREAS, Peter F. Alba School sets the bar high for academic excellence and is truly deserving of special recognition and praise; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Peter F. Alba School is highly honored and commended, and this resolution is offered to the administration, teachers, and staff of Peter F. Alba School in deepest admiration and appreciation for their immeasurable service, as well as with sincere best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
