MOURNING THE DEATH OF RICHARD ERVIN ROBERSON.
WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow that we note the
death on January 27, 2018, of Mr. Richard Ervin Roberson of
Gadsden, Alabama, at the age of 64 years; and
WHEREAS, his passing leaves a void in the lives of
his loving family, many friends, and the entire community,
where he was highly regarded; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Roberson was a graduate of Emma Samson
High School and The University of Alabama at Birmingham; and
WHEREAS, he proudly served his country in the United
States Navy; was a member of Dwight Masonic Lodge No. 7 and
Attalla Masonic Lodge; he retired from IBEW Local 136; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Roberson was a Christian; he served as
an ordained Deacon and longtime member of MeadowBrook Baptist
Church; and
WHEREAS, he was preceded in death by his father,
Luther "Buddy" Roberson; grandson, Noah Shelnut; and
WHEREAS, survivors include his beloved wife, Diane
Roberson; daughters, Mandy Yates (Jeff), Maggie Walker
(Jason), and Rebekah Walker (Perry); grandchildren, Peyton
Yates, Kaylee Yates, Bryant Yates, Matthew Walker, Luke
Walker, Cooper Walker, and Khloe Walker; mother, Ann Parham
(Charles); and a host of other relatives and friends; and
WHEREAS, although his presence will be greatly
missed, the memory of Mr. Roberson will be cherished in the
hearts of all who knew and loved him; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the death of Mr. Richard
Ervin Roberson is recorded with deep sadness, and this
resolution is offered in tribute to his life and with
heartfelt sympathy to his family, whose grief is shared by
many.
