COMMENDING DR. NEIL LAMB ON WINNING THE NATIONAL
SCIENCE TEACHERS ASSOCIATION'S FARADAY SCIENCE COMMUNICATOR
AWARD.
WHEREAS, it is with immense pleasure that we commend
Dr. Neil Lamb of Huntsville's HudsonAlpha Institute on winning
the National Science Teachers Association's Faraday Science
Communicator Award for excellence in teaching science; and
WHEREAS, under Dr. Lamb's leadership, HudsonAlpha's
educational programs about genetics and the work of
HudsonAlpha have reached more than 1.5 million students,
educators, clinical professionals, patients, and members of
the public in the 2016-2017 academic year; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Rick Myers, HudsonAlpha President and
Science Director, described Dr. Lamb as one of the best
communicators in the nation; he has the ability to take very
complex science and explain it in a way that is understandable
for every audience; this honor is well deserved; and
WHEREAS, DR. Lamb will be honored at the NSTA
Conference in Atlanta on March 15-18, 2018; the award is named
for Michael Faraday, the English chemist and physicist known
for pioneering experiments in electricity and magnetism; now
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Dr. Neil Lamb is honored and
commended on winning the National Science Teachers
Association's Faraday Science Communicator Award, and this
resolution is offered to him in highest tribute, along with
congratulations and sincere best wishes in all future
endeavors.
