MOURNING THE DEATH OF MR. ELBERT GLENNIS ALVERSON.
WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow that we note the
death Mr. Elbert Glennis Alverson on February 20, 2018, at the
age of 78 years; and
WHEREAS, he was born on April 18, 1939, to Jessie
Nolan Alverson and Lois Nelson Alverson; he was employed by
Wallace Construction for 40 years and retired as a
superintendent; he was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist
Church; he enjoyed playing and singing bluegrass music and
being on the farm working with his horses; he had a sense of
humor which endeared him to many; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Alverson was predeceased by his
parents; son, James Elbert Alverson; and brother, David E.
Alverson; survivors include his wife of 54 years, Brenda
Ashley Alverson; grandchildren, Zachary (Jennifer) and Alec
Alverson; great-grandchild, Waylon Alverson; and sister,
Edithe Faye (Gene) Edwards; and
WHEREAS, the passing of Elbert Glennis Alverson
leaves a void in the lives of his loving family, many friends,
and the entire community, where he was highly regarded; his
presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will be
cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved him; now
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That the death of Mr. Elbert Glennis
Alverson is recorded with deep sadness, and this resolution is
offered in highest tribute to his life, along with heartfelt
sympathy to his grieving family.
