HR419 193136-1 By Representative Ford RFD: First Read: 15-MAR-18 193136-1:n:03/13/2018:AR/ar LSA2018-1027 MOURNING THE DEATH OF CHARLES E. COPELAND. WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow that we note the death of Charles E. Copeland of Attalla, Alabama, on February 21, 2018, at the age of 67 years; and WHEREAS, Mr. Copeland was born July 13, 1950; he was a longtime, active member of Samuels Chapel United Methodist Church; he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Kendall, watching West End Football on Friday nights, attending his men's breakfast at Cracker Barrel with his friends and classmates, and frequently walking the trails at the falls and at the bird sanctuary; he was an active member of his Local Sheet Metal Worker Union; and WHEREAS, Mr. Copeland was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather; he was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.S. Copeland, Jr.; his survivors include his beloved wife, Kendall T. Copeland; son, Pace Armstrong (Shannon); daughters, Jennie Head, Tonie Gilmer (Butch), and Christi Copeland; sisters, Vicky Scott (Keith), Phyllis Rhoden (Jimmy), and Melanie Grant (Robin); grandchildren, Drake Ash, Jailyn Crocton, Sage Battles (Simone), Reid Haygood, and Chandler Armstrong; great-grandchildren, Jemma and Gray Battles and Dallas Ash; several nieces, nephews, and friends; and WHEREAS, the passing of Mr. Copeland leaves a void in the lives of his loving family, many friends, and the entire community, where he was highly regarded; his presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will be cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved him; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the death of Charles E. Copeland is recorded with deep sadness, and this resolution is offered in highest tribute to his life, along with heartfelt sympathy to his grieving family.
