MOURNING THE DEATH OF SHEROKEE T. STEPHENS.
WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow that we note the
untimely death of Sherokee T. Stephens on February 4, 2018, at
the age of 30 years; and
WHEREAS, Sherokee was born on July 20, 1987, to
Dewey R. and Deanna Annette Cole Stephens; she graduated in
2006 from Gadsden High School; she was an accomplished swimmer
and loved her swim team; she enjoyed being a member of the
JROTC; she was fan of the Atlanta Braves and of the Auburn
Tigers; and a was member of the Bethel Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, Sherokee had an infectious smile and she
was a joy to be around; and
WHEREAS, she was predeceased by her grandparents,
Fred and Frances McCoy Stephens and Ollis Cole; her survivors
include her parents; brothers, Derek Stephens and Chris
Stephens; and grandmother, Imogene Hazelwood Cole; and
WHEREAS, the passing of Sherokee T. Stephens leaves
a void in the lives of her loving family, many friends, and
the entire community, where she was highly regarded; her
presence will be greatly missed, but her memory will be
cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved her; now
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That the death of Sherokee T.
Stephens is recorded with deep sadness, and this resolution is
offered in highest tribute to her life, along with heartfelt
sympathy to her grieving family.
