HONORING CAROLYN HARRIS DYE ON THE OCCASION OF HER
70TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION.
WHEREAS, highest commendations and congratulations
are herein proudly presented to Carolyn Harris Dye on the
occasion of her 70th Birthday Celebration; and
WHEREAS, a native and lifelong resident of the
Knoxville neighborhood in Talladega, Alabama, Carolyn Harris
Dye was born June 12, 1948, to the union of Mr. and Mrs.
Eloise and John Harris; she attended Eastside Grade School
from first to seventh grade and completed her studies at
Westside High School; and
WHEREAS, on September 26, 1969, she married the love
of her life, Mr. Willie Dye, and their blissful union of 48
years was blessed with three children and eight grandchildren;
she is a devout woman of God who was baptized at an early age
at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she remained a
faithful and dedicated member; she is a beloved wife, mother,
grandmother, sister, and aunt whose greatest joy is her family
and whose favorite pastime is spending time with loved ones;
and
WHEREAS, Carolyn Harris has served as an employee at
Beamiston and Crown Textile and retired from Walmart
Corporation after 16 and a half years of recognized service;
she takes great pride in her community through her
participation in civic and social activities; she lends her
voice in enacting social change and often campaigns for worthy
candidates seeking local and state offices; she utilizes her
resources in benefitting the Talladega School System; and
WHEREAS, a 70th Birthday is a significant milestone
that represents decades of wisdom earned and memories gained
and is a cause for rejoicing; it is a tremendous privilege to
recognize such a remarkable lady on the occasion of her
special day; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Carolyn Harris Dye is honored
and commended, and this resolution is offered to her in
highest tribute, as well as with sincere best wishes for the
future.
