WHEREAS, the Madison County Republican Men's Club began in January 1985 with 12 men attending; it is now the largest Republican Men's Club in the world with over 500 members; average attendance for meetings is approximately 200 members; and WHEREAS, an 11-member board determines meetings, bylaws, and other decisions for the organization; there are no dues for members and the meetings are scheduled to avoid holidays and special events; each brief meeting has a program and question and answer session; and WHEREAS, women are invited to attend as guests and approximately 30 women attend each month; and WHEREAS, achieving the 400th meeting is a milestone accomplishment for any organization and worthy of recognition; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That we congratulate the Madison County Republican Men's Club on its 400th meeting to occur on April 21, 2018, and by copy of this resolution offer highest tribute, along with sincere best wishes for success in future endeavors.
