MOURNING THE DEATH AND CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF MR.
JAMES MALCOLM HILL.
WHEREAS, we deeply regret to learn of the death of
Mr. James Malcolm Hill of Glencoe, Alabama, on January 16,
2018, at 83 years of age, and we uplift his life and legacy
with utmost reverence and respect; and
WHEREAS, the passing of Mr. James Malcolm Hill
leaves a void in the lives of his loving family, many friends,
and the entire community, where he was highly regarded; and
WHEREAS, born in Lineville, Alabama, Mr. Hill
graduated from Delta High School, served in the United States
Army, and retired from the Alabama State Highway Department;
he was a member of Glencoe Veterans of Foreign Wars, Glencoe
Masonic Lodge, and Glencoe First United Methodist Church; and
WHEREAS, survivors include his beloved and devoted
wife, Patricia M. Hill; daughter, Vickie Hill (David) Brown;
son, Barry (Cheri) Hill; daughter, Phylis Hill (Tim) Diggs;
son, Roderick Hill; eight grandchildren, Ashley Hill (Clint)
Turner, Cari Hill (Justin) Chandler, Heather Diggs (Dylan)
Hartman, Jennifer Diggs, Catherine Diggs, Jessica Diggs, Josh
Randall, Bethany (Blake) Powell; six great-grandchildren,
Harper Turner, Jaxson Chandler, Mabrey Turner, Ellie Chandler,
Raelee Randall, Chasten Powell; and brother, Joe Hill; he was
preceded in death by wife, Nobia Steen Hill; parents, Young
and Bernice Hill; sister, Kathleen Lupian; sister, Joyce
Nelson; and daughter-in-law, Nora Hill; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hill was a valued member of the
community; although his presence is greatly missed, his memory
is cherished in the hearts and minds of all those who were
fortunate enough to know him; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That while grieving the death of
Mr. James Malcolm Hill, we are extremely grateful for his
abundant life, and we offer this resolution in highest tribute
to his legacy, as well as with heartfelt sympathy to his
family and friends.
