This bill would terminate the State of Alabama's participation in the Historic Chattahoochee Compact and the Historic Chattahoochee Commission

To terminate the State of Alabama's participation in the Historic Chattahoochee Compact and the Historic Chattahoochee Commission; and for the purpose to repeal Section 41-9-311, Code of Alabama 1975.

This bill would terminate the State of Alabama's participation in the Historic Chattahoochee Compact and the Historic Chattahoochee Commission

To terminate the State of Alabama's participation in the Historic Chattahoochee Compact and the Historic Chattahoochee Commission; and for the purpose to repeal Section 41-9-311, Code of Alabama 1975.

Section 1

Effective September 30, 2018, the participation of the State of Alabama in the Historic Chattahoochee Compact and the Historic Chattahoochee Commission, provided for in Section 41-9-311 of the Code of Alabama 1975, is terminated; and Section 41-9-311 of the Code of Alabama 1975, is repealed.

Section 2

The Governor shall notify the Governor of Georgia that this state is terminating its participation in the Historic Chattahoochee Compact.

Section 3

This act shall become effective immediately following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
