Title

Contract Review Permanent Legislative Oversight Committee, membership altered to include chairs of House Ways and Means General Fund and Education and Senate Finance and Taxation General Fund and Education Committees, provide further for the length of terms on the committee, Sec. 29-2-40 am'd.

Description

<p class="bill_description"> Under existing law, the membership of the Contract Review Permanent Legislative Oversight Committee includes the budget committee chair of the Senate, the budget committee chair of the House, and three additional members appointed from each house</p><p class="bill_description"> This bill would revise the law to clarify that the two budget committee chairs of the Senate and the two budget committee chairs of the House are included on the committee</p><p class="bill_description"> This bill would also authorize a member to continue to serve on the committee until a successor is appointed under certain specific circumstances</p><p class="bill_entitled_an_act"> To amend Section 29-2-40, Code of Alabama 1975, relating to the Contract Review Permanent Legislative Oversight Committee, to increase the membership of the board from five to seven members; to clarify that the membership of the committee includes the Chairs of the Senate Finance and Taxation General Fund and Senate Finance and Taxation Education Committees and the Chairs of the House Ways and Means General Fund and House Ways and Means Education Committees; and to authorize a member to continue to serve on the committee until a successor is appointed under certain specific circumstances. </p>
