Description

Under existing law, motor vehicle rentals and leases are subject to insurance, taxation, and licensing requirements and obligations.

This bill would provide that private passenger automobiles and pickup trucks are subject to those same insurance, taxation, and licensing requirements and obligations when used as a rental vehicle in a private motor vehicle rental program.

This bill would also provide liability and property and casualty insurance coverage requirements for a private motor vehicle rental program and program provider.
