Bill Summary
Under existing law, the Board of Nursing is responsible for the regulation of the practice of nursing in the state
This bill would authorize the board, by rule, to establish standards for student nurse apprenticeships and to issue student nurse apprentice permits to eligible students
This bill would also authorize the board, by rule, to establish standards for certified medication assistants and to issue certified medication assistant permits to eligible applicants
To amend Section 34-21-2, Code of Alabama 1975, as amended by Act 2019-102, 2019 Regular Session, relating to the duties of the Board of Nursing; to authorize the board, by rule, to establish standards for student nurse apprenticeships and to issue student nurse apprentice permits to eligible students; and to authorize the board, by rule, to establish standards for certified medication assistants and to issue certified medication assistant permits to eligible applicants.
