Title
Alcoholic beverages, Alcoholic Beverage Control Board to allow private liquor stores opportunity to add liquor to inventory prior to delivery to ABC liquor stores, ABC may adopt rules
Description

Under existing law, the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board acts as the sole importer and wholesaler of liquor products for both state and private liquor stores.

This bill would require the board, prior to delivery of any non-allocated liquor product to any state liquor store, to allow private liquor licensees 30 days to select whether to add that liquor to its inventory.

This bill would require the board to distribute allocated liquor products to private liquor licensees and state liquor stores pursuant to a specified ratio.

This bill would define "allocated liquor products" and would establish the Allocated Liquor Product Advisory Board with the power and duty to determine which liquor products shall be designated as allocated liquor products.

This bill would also provide that a private liquor retailer may purchase liquor products from any state liquor store, under certain conditions.
