HB79 would make knowingly advertising access to sexual or labor servitude a second-degree human trafficking crime, with corporate liability and enforcement penalties.
It adds a new element to the crime of human trafficking in the second degree by making knowingly advertising access to sexual or labor servitude a second-degree offense. The bill allows corporations or other legal entities to be prosecuted for trafficking for acts by their agents within the scope of employment. It also makes obstructing enforcement of this law a Class B felony. If enacted, the law would take effect on October 1, 2024.
