SB139 keeps the Alabama Board of Cosmetology and Barbering in place through October 1, 2028.
It extends the board’s existence and regulatory authority for cosmetology and barbering. It preserves the existing statutory framework that governs the board (Chapter 7B of Title 34). It becomes law with an effective date of June 1, 2024, following the Sunset Committee’s recommendation and legislative concurrence.
