House Health Hearing
Room 206 at 10:30:00

Under existing law, food trucks and similar mobile food vendors may be required to undergo inspections by local health officials and fire or building code officials in the various counties and municipalities in which the mobile food vendors temporarily operate.
This bill would require mobile food vendors to periodically undergo one health inspection and one fire inspection that would apply statewide. This would exempt mobile food vendors from obtaining individual health and fire inspections from local jurisdictions when the mobile food vendor travels throughout the state.
This bill would also require the State Fire Marshal to establish a statewide uniform fire inspection process for all mobile food vendors in the state and maintain a list of jurisdictions authorized to conduct mobile food unit fire inspections.
This bill would also provide criminal penalties for mobile food vendors who operate without health and fire inspection certificates.
