Johnny Hatcher

As I seek election to the board of the Mobile County Public School System, my promise is that I will carry out the responsibilities of this important position with dedication and a strong commitment to public education along with service to the local community. The public education system rests upon the governance of locally elected school board officials, who comprise the school district’s board of directors. The decision-making carried out by this board has a large impact on the success of our children. Being elected a member of the MCPSS is highly rewarding and would be my honor.

I have a passion for this community. Born and raised in Mobile County. I attended Griggs Elementary, Theodore Middle School and Theodore High School. I have a bride of 31 years and eight (8 children, five (5) of which my wife and I adopted through the foster program. The Mobile County Solid Waste Authority, Bayou la Batre Housing Authority and Theodore Dawes Volunteer Fire Department are just a few of the boards I sit on because I feel it is important to give back to your community and fulfill a sense of responsibility to the citizens, most importantly our children, who are our future.

Why vote for me? I believe in parental rights. I believe it is the parent's fundamental right to direct the upbringing and education of their children. Fiscal responsibility and supporting a merit system raise are two other interests I have if elected.

I believe everyone is born with a purpose and helping my community happens to be mine. I will not take this position lightly or for granted. It will be my honor, and I truly believe we can make a difference. Let's Raise the Bar, Mobile County! Vote Johnny Hatcher!!
