About

Ron Crumpton is a 47-year-old father of one.

After becoming disabled and unable to continue his career in landscaping and irrigation services, Ron entered college at Jeff State Junior College and continued to the University of Alabama at Birmingham in order to obtain the job skills necessary to remain a productive member of society.

While attending college Ron became a patients’ rights advocate and has authored many pieces of significant legislation including the Alabama Medical Marijuana Safe Access Act, which would create regulated access to medical marijuana, and the Alabama Cannabis and Hemp Reform Act, which would create a system of sensible medical, industrial and recreational marijuana policies, and the Alabama Multiple Handicapped Service Dog Act, which would create a voucher system to help provide service dogs to patients who have multiple physical or mental handicaps. He is currently working on legislation that would help prevent the abuse of special needs children and adults in schools and care facilities.

Ron has more than seven years’ experience lobbying the Alabama Legislature in Montgomery. He has testified before many committees including the first joint hearing of the senate and house judiciary committees on sentencing reform.

After years as an activist, Ron decided that the only way to change the government is from the inside.
