The Morgan County Deputy License Inspector would gain full law enforcement powers and access to state crime databases if certified, expanding their role beyond licensing duties.
Gives the Morgan County Deputy License Inspector the same power and authority as deputy sheriffs and other state law enforcement officers if they meet minimum standards and hold a current Alabama POST certification. Requires the inspector to have access to Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center (ACJIC) records in the same way as other law enforcement officers. Authorizes access to the Law Enforcement Tactical System (LETS) for the inspector as part of their duties. Delays the act's effective date to the first day of the third month after it passes and the Governor approves it.
