Title
Accountability Act of 2013, proposed by HB 84, 2013 Reg. Sess., Act 2013-64, 2013 Reg. Sess., repealed
Description

Under existing law, the Alabama Accountability Act of 2013 authorizes income tax credits for parents who transfer students enrolled in or assigned to attend a failing public K-12 school to a nonfailing public school or nonpublic school of the parents' choice and for taxpayers that make contributions to organizations that provide educational scholarships to qualifying schools

This bill would repeal portions of the Alabama Accountability Act of 2013, that authorizes and implements the income tax provisions of the Act and would rename it the Local Control School Flexibility Act of 2013

Relating to the Alabama Accountability Act of 2013; to amend Sections 16-6D-1, 16-6D-3 and 16-6D-4 to delete any references to the income tax credit provisions of the act; to rename the Accountability Act of 2013 the Local Control School Flexibility Act of 2013; and to repeal Sections 16-6D-8 and 16-6D-9, inclusive, Code of Alabama 1975.
