- Distinctive motor vehicle tags, disabled veterans, members of Armed Forces, volunteer firefighters and volunteer rescue squads, except from license tax and registration fees, number of vehicles eligible increased, Secs. 40-12-244, 40-12-254 am'd.
- Description
Under existing law, certain members of the Armed Forces and certain volunteer firefighters and members of volunteer rescue squads are exempt from license tax and registration fees on one motor vehicle.
Under existing law, certain disabled veterans who own a motor vehicle for personal use paid for all or partly by funds furnished by the Administrator of Veterans' Affairs under federal law are exempt from all license fees and ad valorem taxes on the motor vehicle.
This bill would provide that certain members of the Armed Forces, volunteer firefighters, members of volunteer rescue squads, and disabled veterans who own a vehicle paid for in whole or in part by the Administrator of Veterans' Affairs would receive an exemption from license fees and ad valorem taxes for up to two motor vehicles.
