Court costs in circuit, district, and municipal court, electronic citation fee in misdemeanor, traffic, municipal ordinance, or conservation cases, distribution to court clerk, use for electronic citation
Description

This bill would provide an electronic citation fee as additional court costs in each traffic, misdemeanor, municipal ordinance, or conservation case in the municipal, district, or circuit court. The funds would be disbursed as follows: Sixty percent of the funds would be retained by the appropriate court clerk and 40 percent of the funds would be distributed to the arresting law enforcement agency. The funds would be used solely for the purpose of establishing and maintaining electronic citations.
