Under existing law, a corporate officer may annually elect to be exempt from coverage under the Alabama Workers' Compensation Act by filing a written certification of that election with the Department of Labor and the employer's insurance carrier.
This bill would remove the requirement for the certification to be filed with the Department of Labor and would add a member of a limited liability company to the persons who may file for exemptions.
